Bishop Andrew, attended in his role as President of the Irish Council of Churches and before attending said he was looking forward to being part of such an historic occasion.

 “It will be an immense honour to represent the Irish Council of Churches at the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort. The sense of history will be writ large during the Service and throughout the day. On a personal level, it is a great privilege to have been invited to attend the Coronation and be part of such an historic occasion. I pray God’s richest blessing on the Royal couple on their Coronation day and, indeed, throughout their reign.”

The Bishop of Derry and Raphoe was among clergy in Westminster Abbey this past weekend for the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. The Service, on Saturday 6th May, 2023 was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. As previously announced, it reflected King Charles III’s role today and looked towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.
